The body of 41-year-old Prashant Satpathy, hailing from Balasore district in Odisha, was brought back to Bhubaneswar airport late Wednesday night after he was tragically killed in a terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir. His remains reached Isani village early Thursday morning, leading to widespread grief within the community.
In a show of solidarity, the Chief Minister of Odisha paid his respects to Satpathy in Balasore and announced a financial aid package of Rs 20 lakh for the grieving family. Additionally, he promised a government job for Satpathy's widow and support for their son's education.
It is important to note that Satpathy was an employee at the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) in Balasore. He was on vacation in Pahalgam when he was fatally shot by terrorists.
